Aspell user dictionary location

The Aspell user dictionary is typically at ~/.aspell.en.pws on Linux. The location of the Aspell user dictionary is found by:

aspell --lang=en dump config | grep -A2 -e "home-dir (string)" -e "personal (string)"

Windows

Aspell can be used from Windows Subsystem for Linux via the Windows Command Prompt by:

bash -c "aspell -c myfile.txt"

Batch file

Streamline this process by calling WSL Aspell via a batch file on Windows PATH:

@echo off

bash -c "aspell -c %1"

Then from Windows:

aspell.bat myfile.txt

or

aspell.bat path/to/myfile.txt

don’t use backslash \ in paths, only forward slash /
